TM HIGH SPEED BROADBAND (HSBB)

Approximately 122 Households in Bangsar, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam are currently involved in TM High Speed Broadband(HSBB) retail service trial as part of Telekom Malaysia Berhad’s (TM) progressive plan to roll out its commercial HSBB services in the four initial roll-out areas by the end of Q1, 2010 that is by the end of this month March.

These ‘beta testers’ are experiencing and enjoying network access speeds of 15Mbps along with the related triple-play services of Voice, Video and High Speed Internet which will eventually make up the complete HSBB commercial retail package to be announced by TM nearer to the launch date.

What is Tm High Speed Broadband (HSBB)?

TM High Speed Broadband (HSBB) is a broadband service that offers bandwidth delivered at network speeds of 10Mbps to 100Mbps(for residentials). Unlike normal broadband connections which deliver bandwidth at network speeds ranging between 256kbps and 4Mbps currently offered by TM’s under existing Streamyx service., basic HSBB packages will eventually allow Malaysians to experience high speed Internet of up to 100 times faster than the usual rate while business will be able to have maximum speeds of up to 1,000 Mbps (1Gbps).

HSBB will initially be deployed via DSL in the Klang Valley, Iskandar Malaysia and key industrial zones throughout the country. It is expected that 1.3 million premises will have the ability to access HSBB coverage by end 2012.
